Carol Hamersma holds B.A. (classical guitar performance) from Mannes College of Music, NYC, and B.M. (jazz guitar performance) from Queens College Aaron Copland School of Music. Hamersma is a versatile multi-faceted artist, well versed in classical, jazz and pop. As both guitarist and vocalist, she has performed extensively in metropolitan area leading her own combos. She appeared at the Barron Arts Center Series Women in Jazz and Four Guitars, Trumpet Jazz Club in Montclair. Classical performances have included Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center. She played with the female rock band "She" at CBGB (historic East Village music club) and many, many other venues. Carol has taught at Fairleigh Dickinson University and the College of St. Elizabeth; currently on the faculty of the County College of Morris and Seton Hall University. She was introduced to the Do-Re-Mi last spring by Mr. Flip who retired from teaching - he believes Carol will be a wonderful replacement and so far we received great references from his/her students.
