What is your approach to teaching young beginners?
We use traditional approach, while at the same time incorporating some elements of Suzuki method, such as prioritizing correct playing habits (posture, how to hold a violin and a bow, how to produce sound, what is a pitch and other basic techniques) over reading music at the early stages of lessons.
What will I learn at the violin or viola lessons?
Posture, posture, technique, music reading - all this is included in our comprehensive lessons. Our students love learning the fundamentals, as well as incorporating their favorite songs into their lessons. If your child needs help with his or her part in the school orchestra, we’ll be glad to help.
Are your instructors qualified?
Our violin teachers are university trained, graduated from prestigious conservatories such as Shehui Conservatory in Beijing, China, New Mexico State University and john Hopkins University. What is more important, they are patient, encouraging, have friendly personalities and love working with children and teens and adults.

For lessons and home practice, you need your own a violin or viola. We have a limited number of small violins for rent.
Are there recitals?
Absolutely! We run a wide range of recitals, from intimate “piano lounges” in one of the school’s larger rooms with grand pianos for beginners, to a formal spring recitals, in large halls. Admission is free, so you can invite all of your family and friends.
Are there out-of-school performing opportunities?
Students who mastered the basics and show interest in performing, have opportunities to play in various auditions, competitions and concerts, beyond the Do-Re-Mi in-school recitals, such as NYC recitals by Music Educators Association, Golden Key Festival, MusicFest, American Fine Arts Festival and participate in State youth orchestras auditions. It's completely optional - discuss this with your teacher.
