Join us for the 3rd Annual International Chess Academy (ICA) - Livingston Scholastic Summer Day Camp,
Our Summer Camp program offers kids ages 6-16 the opportunity to grow intellectually within a safe and fun environment: learning chess, playing sports, and competing for prizes! Campers are assigned a coach and break out into morning lessons where we solve puzzles, analyze games, and discover new ideas about our favorite game. The small groups are divided by level and age so campers can maximize their learning.
Of course, every coach brings new ideas and challenges. Last summer, many of the experienced campers impressed their friends by memorizing entire grandmaster games. Some were over 100 moves!
We also have fun outside, warming up in the morning with a camp classic dodgeball parody “Circle of Doom”, and returning before lunch to play dodgeball, soccer, or use the playground.
After lunch is the tournament! Campers compete for the weekly prize, and tournament games are often analyzed during the morning lessons.
Sometimes after the tournament campers have a chance to compete against their coaches in a simul exhibition (one coach takes on any and all challengers). On Friday, campers are paired up for the bughouse tournament.
We have a mix of other great options in the afternoon including art, music, and math. And campers compete for prizes all day!
Find out why so many chess players claim that camp is the best place to learn chess!
It's time to secure your child's spot!
