Mixed Media Cityscape

Using collage and mixed media, students will create a layered and multi-directional cityscape.

Faux Stained Glass Composition

Students will create stunning faux stained glass artworks. They'll design intricate patterns, mimicking the look of traditional stained glass, and fill in the spaces with vibrant glass stains. This hands-on activity combines color and light to create beautiful, glowing compositions, encouraging creativity and exploration of design and illumination.

Futuristic Cityscape with 2-Point Perspective

Developing perspective techniques, students will design and draw elements of their own futuristic visions.

Canvas Painting Technique and Introduction to Impressionism:

Students will be taught the basic techniques of color mixing using heavy body paint and palette painting inspired by impressionist masters such as Claude Monet.

Students will be treated to a surprise visit by a pianist who will perform live pieces by Impressionist composers. Inspired by the music, students will paint their impressions during the concert.

Printmaking Techniques: Reduction Print and Monotype:

Students will delve into sophisticated printmaking methods such as reduction print using Linocut and Monotype. They'll paint layers on plexiglass to create translucent, multi-layered images.

Basic Figure Drawing Lessons:

Feeling intimidated by drawing the human figure? Our lesson will cover basic proportions for realistic figure drawing, drawing inspiration from masters like Albrecht Dürer. Students will create gesture drawings in their personal sketchbooks.

Puppet Making:

Students will craft a magical story featuring a unique hybrid character and create their own puppet for a mini-play. Using materials like model magic, various fabrics, and mixed media, they'll bring their puppet to life.

Light Painting in Photography:

Exploring light painting photography, students will experiment with Mrs. Sona's professional camera and colorful flashlights. Collaborating as a team, they'll create enchanting light painting images, each taking home a special original photograph.

Collage:

Studying masters like Henri Matisse, students will craft large-scale collage artwork, delving into color theory, harmony, and artistic elements.

Free Art Exploration and Expression

Students will get to choose from a variety of art mediums, styles and activities to explore and express themselves freely.
