Students Spotlight
May 2020
The News are continuing to feature the Do-Re-Mi community members.
Ella and Ashton Welber
Ella received her “Ten Years Together” award the last year, and Ashton is getting it this June. Some years, they were taking the largest number of various classes, offered in the Do-Re-Mi, including Piano, Chess and Math. This year, they continue Russian, Art and Theater. Ashton also plays saxophone and does Karate, while Ella is a on a crew team at school.
The kids, generally, do not mind staying home - they appreciate a freedom of online learning, while their parents (Kara is an Anesthesiologist and Mark is Emergency Room Doctor) working with COVID-19 patients in the hospital.
Flora Ovchinsky
Flora is our “longest” actress: she started her acting career when she was 3 as a Piglet back in 2012.
She also does gymnastics, and is on the team of the “Go For the Golds” school.
Her parents are also doctors, and the mom, Nadia, a Medical Director of Pediatric Liver Transplantation at Children’s Hospital at Montefiore,
had to learn to treat adult COVID-19 patients, as well…
All the students, featured in May issue, are working online practicing and recording the spring play.
